Regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen. Based on information we received from Selectman Marie Farrell but may have misunderstood,we said that the Board of Selectmen was inviting input at this meeting about your experiences with the Tax Assessor. According to First Selectman Noel Bishop that will not be on the agenda until the 6/19/08 meeting. What is on the meeting agenda is a discussion of the structure of the Board of Assessment Appeals and whether or not it should be changed. Budget Referendum at Mulvey Municipal Center. If you can't make it to vote in person you can vote by absentee ballot at the Town Clerk's office any day it is open up until noon of the day before the Referendum. It's a very easy process.

Planning meeting: Affordable Housing, Property Assessment (Assessor performance, Refused Entry property, BOAA decisions being overturned, BOAA structure change), Annual vs. 5 year revals., Regional Health District, Speed detector application plus other items from floor.

Regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen. Public input about the Tax Assessor's performance is invited since he is up for reappointment to the position in June. You can either write to the Board of Selectmen in advance or tell about your experiences personally by attending the meeting.

Private road maintenance, turning private roads over to the Town, remediation of run off from Town Property, paid use of Town maintenance department by private associations, etc. Although these topics are at the top of the list please bring any question you have for the Town to the meeting to get an answer. Main topic will be property valuation and tax issues such as status of phase in of five year valuation, possible annual revaluation, possible one time revaluation, C3 valuation freeze initiative and possible State Constitution revision question on November ballot.

Since Gerry Dyar will not be able to attend, VP Al Quarti will be inviting the candidates who want to represent us in the State Senate and House for the next two years. This will be a great opportunity to hear what they have to say and ask them your "hard" questions.
